Student portfolio: School of Education & Social Policy and Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences

As an Associate Director of Student Career Advising, Laura works with students in the School of Education & Social Policy and in the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences. Laura is a licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Additionally, Laura serves on the International Student Committee. Laura joined NCA as an intern in 2016 and started full-time in 2018.

Laura earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing, and minor in Public Relations, from Marquette University and her Master of Education in Counseling, with a concentration in College Student Development, from DePaul University. Before joining NCA, Laura worked in the advertising industry for nearly 10 years.

In another life, Laura might have been a designer - either in interiors or fashion.  Laura also likes spending her time going on walks with some combination of family/friends/dog/coworkers, practicing Pilates, and being a tourist in her own city.

Laura’s favorite advice for students: “You do you! Listen to your inner voice when making career choices and trust that you will discover the best career path for you. As a career changer, many people in my life shared their opinions on where I should take my career and what I should do. Staying true to myself ultimately led me to a fulfilling career path. Remember that you are the expert on yourself.”
