Residential Experience
Area Coordinator
The Area Coordinator (AC) is a part of the Office of Residential Experience and collaborates with the broader Residential Services team to foster an inclusive residential environment that fulfills the mission, vision, and goals of Residential Services and the Division of Student Affairs. The AC provides leadership and overall management for two residential areas equating up to 2,500 residents by supervising four full-time, Resident Directors, ensuring implementation of the Residential Experience, and leading committees to develop the student and staff experience. The AC is a 12-month, full-time, master’s required position. The AC reports to an Assistant Director in Residential Community and Support. This position includes working with diverse groups of students, staff, and faculty in a competitive academic environment. The pay range for the Area Coordinator position is $57,000 to $62,340, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity.

Resident Director
Resident Directors (RDs) are professional staff members who live on campus and manage a residential area of approximately 350-700 students. Resident Directors supervise one Assistant Resident Director (ARD) and between 12 and 18 undergraduate or graduate Resident Assistants (RAs/GRAs). Resident Directors work as part of the Office of Residential Experience and collaborate with the broader Residential Services team to foster an inclusive residential community that fulfills the mission, vision, and goals of the Division of Student Affairs. RDs promote student agency and accountability while empowering residents to make healthy, informed decisions. RDs also facilitate opportunities that support students’ academic success, personal development, and well-being. This position includes working with diverse groups of students, staff, and faculty in a rigorous academic environment. Frequent evening and weekend availability are essential and expected. Resident Director roles are 3-year term appointments with the possibility of a one-time one-year extension. The pay for the Resident Director position is $51,346 per year. Operations & Services
Housing Access Coordinator
This position is responsible for administering, assessing, and determining housing disability accommodations at Northwestern University. The Housing Access Coordinator position has a dual report to the Associate Director of AccessibleNU and the Director of Operations and Services in Residential Services at the Evanston campus. The salary range is $60,000 to $62,700 annually, depending on experience, skills, and equity.

Desk Clerk
The Desk Clerk provides standard and routine clerical and administrative support which may include word processing, data entry, ordering supplies, copying, filing, faxing, answering phones, greeting visitors, providing information, and/or scheduling meetings. The role serves as a primary desk contact for residents in the residential area, for general administrative needs. The pay range for this Desk Clerk position is $19.00 to $21.63 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity.

Administrative Assistant 2, Residential Operations and Services
The Administrative Assistant 2 position serves Operations and Services in Residential Services and has a strong focus on customer service. In addition to being responsible for crafting and delegating responses to the department’s email account, the role manages the department’s phone line by providing direct supervision to student staff members and indirect supervision to professional staff colleagues, all of whom answer general phone calls. The Administrative Assistant 2 organizes information in a way that is easy for students, families, and colleagues to digest and provides training to staff members to ensure excellent customer service. The pay range for this Administrative Assistant position is $22.00 - $24.64 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity.

Occupancy Coordinator
The Occupancy Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of undergraduate and graduate assignments, with direction from the Assistant Director. The position uses strong written and verbal communication skills to provide excellent customer service via the Housing@ email account and the HOME Phone Line and serve on a 24/7 duty rotation. The Occupancy Coordinator uses the housing management software regularly to ensure accurate rosters and provide information to the department, campus partners, and the Census Bureau. Regular detail-oriented tasks include creating, modifying, and canceling bookings and responding to waitlist and room change requests. The pay range for this Occupancy Coordinator position is $55,000 to $58,646 annually, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity.

Temporary Mail & Package Center Clerk
Participate in the distribution of inbound and campus mail. Process USPS, UPS, and FedEX shipments. Work closely with and provide excellent customer service to a diverse population of students and staff supporting Residential Services on campus. Participate in seasonal peak of opening. Must be able to lift packages up to 50 lbs. Detail-oriented, customer service skills, use of basic technology and software (Microsoft Office, Pitney-Bowes, Mercury). Pay is $18 per hour. Approximate start date: 8/26/2024 and aproximate end date: 10/4/2024
