Senior Director | Residential Experience

Deb serves as the Senior Director for the Office of Residential Experience. She oversees the Residential and Academic Experience and Residential Community and Support team who work to enhance student experiences in alignment with the Residential Experience Framework.

Previously, Deb served as the Interim Director of Residential Community and Support, returning to Northwestern after a 6-year break. In her role, she is primarily responsible for the student experience in the residence halls including community development, student engagement and programming, crisis response, and the student conduct process. The residence halls should be a place Northwestern students feel like they belong, and it is the role of the staff in Residential Community and Support to create an environment where that can happen.

Prior to her return to Northwestern, Deb worked as Director of Residence Life at Loyola University Chicago. She has also served at DePaul University and institutions in the Washington, DC area. Deb has served the housing profession for the entirety of her career and has had the privilege of serving as the president of ACUHO-I (Association of College and University Housing Officers – International). In that role, she was fortunate to explore student housing around the world including Australia, South Africa, Italy, and the UK. Deb holds a B.S in Biology and M.Ed in Counseling Psychology from Loyola Chicago.
