The 2025 I’m First Awards nomination form is open. The Trailblazer Award recognizes a student who is working to accomplish their goals, is committed to community and academic excellence and creates opportunities to inspire other first-generation students to thrive at Northwestern. The Advocate Award recognizes a faculty or staff member who has contributed significantly to the success of first-generation students through mentorship, programming, research or service. Nominate students or staff for the I'm First Awards today.

Join artists Dyani White Hawk and Caroline Kent for a conversation on abstraction, feminism, and their overlapping artistic interests and influences. This program is co-presented with the Center for Native American and Indigenous Research (CNAIR) as the Fall 2025 Indigenous Feminisms keynote.


Lessons and Carols

All are invited to join the Sheil Catholic community for the beloved annual tradition of Advent Evening Prayer of Lessons and Carols. Enjoy a prayer service of scripture readings and sung prayer to nourish your Advent journey. The evening is free and no advance registration is required.

Wildcats in Recovery - Peer Support Meeting

Wildcats in Recovery is NU's Collegiate Recovery Community. Our peer support meetings offer a relaxed, nonjudgmental space where students can connect, discuss topics related to recovery, support one another, and find community. Peer support meetings are open to those who are in recovery, thinking of recovery, and allies of people in recovery. Learn more here.

Find a Spiritual Direction at Northwestern

Spiritual Direction is a one-on-one space to explore life’s big questions of meaning, purpose, identity, or whatever’s on your mind. It’s open to all backgrounds whether you are religious or not. Sessions last about 45 minutes, once a month, and may include conversation, silence, and reflection. It offers you the chance to pause, pay attention to your inner world, and stay grounded during the rush of college life. Learn more and schedule a preliminary session.

Do you want to improve your overall health and well-being, but just don't know where to start? Wellness Coaching can help!

Wellness Coaching is a collaborative, non-judgmental process that can help you identify and achieve your health and wellness goals, balance dimensions of health and wellness, and learn practical skills to improve overall well-being. Coaches work with you to build on your strengths and support you in creating sustainable plans to achieve your wellness goals. 


 

Request a NU Bystander Training

NUBI (Northwestern University Bystander Intervention) is an initiative that aims to create a safer, more caring, and supportive community by engaging all students, faculty and staff and asking them to play a role in shifting our campus culture.

Bystander intervention is a 90-minute training that was developed to help people identify and interrupt moments of harm or potential harm. The training is intended to help empower people observing a situation to know how they can take an active role in intervening to stop immediate harm, and ideally future harm, from happening.

Red Watch Band Alcohol Bystander Intervention Trainings

This training will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to identify, prevent, and intervene effectively in an alcohol-related medical emergency. You’ll also learn about how alcohol affects our physiology and behavior, signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning, and the truth behind common alcohol-related myths. Sign up for a training now!


CSAW's Opioid Overdose Prevention and Naloxone Training

This one-hour training is for students who are interested in being trained to administer Narcan (naloxone). Attendees will learn how to recognize signs of an opioid overdose, identify when it is appropriate to use Narcan, learn how to administer Narcan to an individual they believe is experiencing an overdose, and identify additional emergency steps to take. All attendees will receive a two-pack of Narcan upon completion of the training.

Trainings will be offered at least two times a quarter. More trainings may be scheduled if there is increased demand. Register NOW!


 

Seniors: Launch Your Career in Social Change with NUPIP

NUPIP is a year-long paid fellowship that combines a placement at a Chicago-area nonprofit or public interest organization with professional development seminars, mentorship with experienced professionals, collaboration with a community of like-minded peers, and a support network to launch your career. Apply by December 15.


Fall ASLA Drop-In Peer Tutoring

Come see the ASLA Peer Tutors for help with variety of courses! You can find them Sunday through Thursday. Locations include Schapiro Hall, Shepard Hall, Elder Lounge, Tech, GSRC, SES, the Black House, and the Multicultural Center. Subjects Covered: Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Economics, Engineering Analysis, Math, Physics, Statistics
