Our Evanston Peet’s location has proudly been a part of the Northwestern community for going on 22 years. Peet’s Coffee has over 250 retail locations in the United States. The Evanston location, and the choice to be a part of the Northwestern community is one that is very near and dear to Peet’s history and the heart of our founder, Alfred Peet. When looking to expand outside of his home market in 1998 in Berkley California, he started looking at his mail order delivery business.  Alfred realized he was sending a lot of coffee to Evanston, Illinois and the surrounding community because a lot of the undergraduate students who had enjoyed his coffee while attending school in the Berkley area went onto higher education at Northwestern University and wanted to continue being fueled by some of the best craft coffee in the world. That is why 22 years ago he built the first Peet’s outside of California, our Evanston, Illinois location.
