Introducing the University's New Outbound Express Shipping Platform

Procurement and Payment Services (PPS) is pleased to announce the launch of a new outbound shipping solution for all domestic and international shipments: eShipGlobal. This web-based platform will replace the use of individual carrier websites (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS) for arranging express shipments.
- Streamlined Access: Faculty and staff can log in using Northwestern’s Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Cost Comparison Tools: Easily compare shipping rates across carriers to select the most cost-effective option side-by-side with all rates from all carriers.
- Exclusive pricing: Benefit from Northwestern’s contracted rates, plus additional discounts available through eShipGlobal.
- Convenient Labeling and Tracking: Print airbills and return labels, and track packages throughout transit.
- Improved Compliance: Enhanced workflows for export and hazardous materials shipping ensure regulatory compliance.
- Automated Billing: PPS will process invoices automatically. A valid chart string is required and will be verified in real time.
- User Training: Comprehensive training will be provided to all users.
- Onsite Support: PPS Logistics staff, including docks and mail service teams, will be available to assist.
PPS will directly notify current users of the Northwestern central billing program and invite them to upcoming training sessions. Please share this information within your unit as appropriate.
Timeline:
- Platform Launch: September 2, 2025
- Transition Deadline: All units are expected to begin using eShipGlobal and discontinue use of individual express shipping vendor accounts (ie. FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS) by January 1, 2026.
