F-1 & J-1 Travel
International students in F-1 or J-1 status may travel within the U.S. or abroad during their tenure at Northwestern.
For the most part, you can easily travel domestically within the United States, as long as you bring your passport and appropriate documentation. Traveling outside of the United States may carry some restrictions and requires additional documentation and approvals. Rules vary by visa status.

As of May 12, 2023, noncitizen nonimmigrant air passengers no longer need to show proof of being fully vaccinated with an accepted COVID-19 vaccine to board a flight to the United States.
