2025 Term Graduate International Student Orientation (GISO)
New graduate students arriving for Fall 2025 will participate in both a required pre-arrival online F-1/J-1 Student Orientation course and in-person international orientation programs and activities designed for graduate students (GISO).
Please see below for the dates of the Fall 2025 Graduate International Student Orientation (GISO).
- September 7: Airport Shuttle offered to campus.
- September 10: Tax Information Sessions, Meet the OISS Team, Midwest 101, Pizza at OISS, and a social networking activity.
- September 11: Resource Fair

 OISS staff will meet the new students at the O’Hare Airport: Terminal 5, concourse M  
 OISS shuttle leaves for Evanston Campus. 
 The airport shuttle bus will be making a loop through Evanston’s north and south campus. | U.S. Immigration Regulations for F-1/J-1 Students 2:00 – 3:00 PM Cahn Auditorium 
 Come learn about immigration regulations that are relevant to your F-1 & J-1 student status. You will also be able to meet the OISS Student Advising Team. 
 | The Graduate School (TGS) Resource Fair 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Norris, Louis Room  Open to All Graduate International Students: get Northwestern swag, and become familiarized with key on and off campus resources to assist during your academic career at Northwestern.
