Orientation

International Student Orientation is an opportunity for students to learn about Northwestern — including meeting their OISS Advisor, learning about immigration requirements, preparing for the academic year, and making connections with other international students.

Pre-arrival Online Orientation Courses

OISS is pleased to offer two online courses designed to  aid new degree seeking international students in their transition and arrival to NU. These online courses are delivered via "Homebase"  and are designed to provide important prearrival information to facilitate your arrival to the U.S. and adjustment to Northwestern.

1st Course: Newly Admitted Student Guide

Upon receiving access to the OISS, you will receive a system generated message alerting you of your access to the OISS portal as well as instructions on how to register with "Homebase" and access the first of two OISS courses: Newly Admitted Student Guide. The course will guide you through various important topics that will answer many common questions we receive.

2nd Course: Pre-Arrival Orientation

Fall term students for whom Northwestern has issued immigration documents can expect to receive instructions via on how to access to the 2nd course in June.  The 2nd course will contain important information on maintaining your immigration status while you are a student at Northwestern University as well as information to help you plan and prepare for travel to the United States and life at Northwestern.
