SOFO Student Supervisor

SOFO Student Supervisor

The SOFO Student Supervisors are responsible for coordinating the financial assistant staff to ensure the effective operation of the Student Organization Finance Office. In addition to facilitating transactions for student leaders, the SOFO Supervisors serve as training facilitators and representatives of the Business Operations area and, more generally, of the Norris University Center. It is a position that comes with much financial responsibility, accountability, and a high level of trust.

Norris Box Office Supervisor

Norris Box Office Supervisor

Norris Box Office Student Supervisors are responsible for the effective operation of the Box Office through their coordinated efforts with the Center Desk staff.  Comprising part of the administrative body of the NBO, they direct operations within the office when the Cash Services Manager is unavailable. The NBOSS work with the Center Desk Student Supervisors to ensure that Center Desk staff are trained and kept current to competently serve the university community with Box Office events and policies. The NBOSS also work with the Student Supervisors in the Cashier’s Office and Student Organization Finance Office to provide registered student organizations with a financially transparent and sound support.

Dittmar Student Supervisor

Dittmar Student Supervisor

The Dittmar Student Curator manages and supervises the Gallery with direct supervision from the graduate assistant. The Student Curator plans and implements art-related programs to involve the University Community. The Curator also hires and trains two assistants, solicits and supervises volunteers, arranges for all catering, manages the gallery budget, organizes the Dittmar Council meetings, handles all marketing requests, manages event requests, and Norris galleria.

ARTica Student Supervisor

Under the direction of the Building Services Assistant Director, the Student Supervisor develops a team of staff to successfully operate ARTica Studios. The Supervisor ensures that attendants are trained to competently serve the university community in the use of ceramics, photography, and other artistic projects.

An active team member who participates in the area's development, including promotion/advertising, renting equipment, equipment maintenance, and programming.  The Supervisor creates a friendly, informative, customer-oriented atmosphere through interacting professionally with customers.  Under the direction of the Graduate Assistant, Program Coordinator and Assistant Director for Norris Programs, the supervisor works collaboratively with the staff team to develop Norris Outdoors as a premiere equipment rental operation, information resource, and program provider.

Student Staff Development Manager

The central responsibility of the Student Staff Development Manager (SSDM) is the continual development and positive advancement of the student staff experience at the Norris University Center and its Performance and Satellite Venues. The goals of this position includes strengthening communication, teamwork, and the overall programming for the student staff program to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for fellow student staff members.

Event Planning Student Supervisor

As immediate supervisor to the Student Coordinators, the Supervisor will help to interview, hire, train and schedule the Coordinators. They will ensure that the Coordinators know how to perform their responsibilities, support all appropriate functions related to their expressed duties, and are kept informed of new policies and service issues. This position is responsible for assisting students, departments, and campus offices in planning, coordinating, and executing successful events and providing stellar customer service.

Cashier's Office Student Supervisor

The Cashier’s Office Student Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the Cashier’s Office. This position requires good communication and customer service skills. The Cashier’s Office Student Supervisor responds to inquiries, maintains the area, trains in cash handling, and audits and reconciles deposits, debit cards and tickets. The student supervisor also has the responsibility in giving presentations to various members of the Northwestern community.

The Performance Venues Supervisor trains, evaluates, and provides direction to the student staff members of the Performance Venues team. Performance Venue Supervisors assist clients with the use of Performance Venues and help manage, maintain, and improve the Performance Venues.

Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor

Production Supervisors work closely with the Production Student Staff Manager and the Production Manager to oversee all aspects of on-site event management and student staffing for the Norris University Center and Out of House Venues. This position will lead a cohort of approximately 4-5 Production Assistants and will be responsible for training, evaluation, and development for their cohort team.  The Production Supervisor will serve as the lead student staff member on shift and will be highly trained in how to provide on-site event management and assistance to clients.

Note: Driver's license is required prior to beginning position. Applicant must be able to pass a driving background check.

Applicants must participate in a paid fall training (approximately four-six days prior to fall quarter and area-specific training time as scheduled by your supervisor); all-staff training in October; be subject to quarterly reviews by area supervisors; complete quarterly employment surveys and/or evaluations; and attend regular staff development and advancement opportunities throughout the academic year.
