Apply for SESP 251: Professional Pathways and Future Possibilities

Are you a second-year undergraduate FGLI student interested in exploring how your story connects to your career? Apply to SESP 251, a Winter Quarter course that will help students align their professional pursuits with their personal values, while reflecting on how their journeys are shaped by their cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. The class will meet Wednesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. Applications are due November 5.

Trauma Prevention and Recovery: Israel’s Experience with War-Related PTSD

World-renowned PTSD expert Yair Bar-Haim, will discuss Israel’s extensive experience in understanding, preventing, and treating trauma related to war. Bar-Haim will highlight emerging approaches to PTSD prevention and treatment grounded in cognitive neuroscience.

Chitra Ganesh in Conversation: Students Shape the Collection

Join us to celebrate the 2024–25 Student Acquisition: a series of prints by artist Chitra Ganesh, originally published as a 24-page comic book. Known for her subversive visual language, Ganesh draws from pop culture, science fiction, mythology, and Indian visual traditions to challenge dominant narratives around gender, sexuality, and power.


The Peace We Make: A Youth-Led Buffett Symposium

mindfulNU Fall Cohort '25

mindfulNU is a six-week program created by Northwestern students, for Northwestern students, to help you build a mindfulness practice in a supportive cohort. Each week you’ll experience stillness and movement-based meditations, mindful writing, and group reflection, with space to connect and grow alongside your peers. Find a Spiritual Direction at Northwestern

Spiritual Direction is a one-on-one space to explore life’s big questions of meaning, purpose, identity, or whatever’s on your mind. It’s open to all backgrounds whether you are religious or not. Sessions last about 45 minutes, once a month, and may include conversation, silence, and reflection. It offers you the chance to pause, pay attention to your inner world, and stay grounded during the rush of college life. Learn more and schedule a preliminary session.

Wellness Coaching is a collaborative, non-judgmental process that can help you identify and achieve your health and wellness goals, balance dimensions of health and wellness, and learn practical skills to improve overall well-being. Coaches work with you to build on your strengths and support you in creating sustainable plans to achieve your wellness goals. 


 

Request a NU Bystander Training!

NUBI (Northwestern University Bystander Intervention) is an initiative that aims to create a safer, more caring, and supportive community by engaging all students, faculty and staff and asking them to play a role in shifting our campus culture.

Bystander intervention is a 90-minute training that was developed to help people identify and interrupt moments of harm or potential harm. The training is intended to help empower people observing a situation to know how they can take an active role in intervening to stop immediate harm, and ideally future harm, from happening.

Red Watch Band Alcohol Bystander Intervention Trainings

This training will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to identify, prevent, and intervene effectively in an alcohol-related medical emergency. You’ll also learn about how alcohol affects our physiology and behavior, signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning, and the truth behind common alcohol-related myths. Sign up for a training now!


CSAW's Opioid Overdose Prevention and Naloxone Training

This one-hour training is for students who are interested in being trained to administer Narcan (naloxone). Attendees will learn how to recognize signs of an opioid overdose, identify when it is appropriate to use Narcan, learn how to administer Narcan to an individual they believe is experiencing an overdose, and identify additional emergency steps to take. All attendees will receive a two-pack of Narcan upon completion of the training.

Trainings will be offered at least two times a quarter. More trainings may be scheduled if there is increased demand. Register NOW!

Come see the ASLA Peer Tutors for help with variety of courses! You can find them Sunday through Thursday. Locations include Schapiro Hall, Shepard Hall, Elder Lounge, Tech, GSRC, SES, the Black House, and the Multicultural Center. Subjects Covered: Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Economics, Engineering Analysis, Math, Physics, Statistics

NCA: December 2025 Investment Banking Career Trek to NYC

Applications due October 26 midnight (Sunday)

Northwestern Career Advancement is hosting an Investment Banking Career Trek to New York City on Monday, December 15, Tuesday, December 16th, and Wednesday, December 17th. This Trek is for students who identify as sophomores planning to actively apply to investment banking internships for their summer 2027 experience as early as winter break 2025/winter quarter 2026.

NCA wants to ensure that cost is never prohibitive to a student’s career planning. Students with demonstrated financial need may be offered support for travel and lodging. More details will be provided to those students who qualify (see application). Applications should be submitted no later than October 26th midnight (Sunday).
