If you’re creating a new position, send a position description to SAHR@northwestern.edu. SAHR will request grading for the role from the Compensation team.
Once the role has a pay grade, submit the position approval form. The request will be routed to SAHR, then SALT, then VPSA. You will receive email updates at each stage.
This workflow replaces the former PDF Position Request Form (PAC form).
Be sure your supervisor and SALT representative are aware of and on board with the request. The submissions should be vetted and confirmatory.
If you're unsure about details (e.g., chartstrings, position numbers), complete what you can and enter question marks. SAHR will revise your submission if needed before routing to SALT.
If the role is approved, SAHR will create the job opening and ask Talent Acquisition to post the role on NU’s website. If appropriate, you may request an internal-only job post; both internal-only and external job posts are subject to the Diverse Candidate Slates policy, so consult SAHR if needed.
