Campus Accommodation Advisory Council

The Campus Accommodations Advisory Council is charged with reviewing systemic accessibility concerns as raised by campus audits, council members and members and guests of the University community in an effort to maintain a welcoming and accessible physical environment for individuals of all abilities. This charge encompasses not only campus physical accessibility, but also other accommodations such as lactation spaces and all-gender restrooms.

Through its representative and diverse membership, the council embodies a comprehensive perspective for developing recommendations to the University’s senior leadership to address and solve the identified accessibility issues. The responsibilities of the council include:

  • Prioritizing resolution of campus needs with consideration of allocated resources
  • Advancing identified accessibility issues and determining if the issues are best addressed by the council or if the issues should be routed to a specific campus office
  • Coordinate resolutions with identified appropriate units
