Babak Bakhtiari

2022-babak_bakhtiari_0001.jpgBabak Bakhtiari joined Northwestern University’s Office of General Counsel in 2022 as Associate General Counsel. Babak’s principal areas of responsibility in the Office are Student Affairs, Athletics, litigation, and compliance. Prior to joining Northwestern, Babak was a partner at a 30-attorney school law boutique where he served as outside general counsel for K-12 school districts and higher education institutions.

Babak received his bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he majored in English. He received his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law. Babak is licensed to practice law in Illinois and is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA).
