Mark Francis joined the Office of the Provost in January 2019.

As Associate Provost for Administration, Finance and Facilities, Mark is responsible for supporting and enhancing academic operations, work processes, resource allocation processes, and space/facilities planning and execution, both within the Office of the Provost and across the University. In collaboration with the Office of Budget and Planning, Mark works closely with academic and administrative unit leaders to execute the resource planning process and to ensure that the budgets support unit strategic plans as part of the University’s budget framework. Mark provides oversight of the budget and human resource functions within the Office of the Provost.

Prior to joining the Office of the Provost, Mark was the Vice President for Global Real Estate at PepsiCo, where he led the development and implementation of the company’s global real estate strategy and portfolio maintenance. Before that role, he served as Associate Director of University Planning at Yale University. In this role, his responsibilities included master planning, programming, construction and design for Yale’s residential colleges, academic facilities and research laboratories, and libraries and museums. In addition, he served as Project Director for all facets of the creation of the Yale-NUS College campus in Singapore. Before Yale, Mark was an architect in Boston, Chicago and Houston with Gensler, a large architecture consulting firm.

Mark is a registered architect with his Master’s Degree in Architecture from Rice University.
