Sheldon Frazier currently serves as a Doctoral Graduate Conducting Assistant in wind conducting at Northwestern University. In this role, he assists with conducting and administrating the university’s concert bands, athletic bands, and conducting courses.

Frazier previously served as Band Director in metro Atlanta, Georgia and Canton, MI where he led band programs of over 300 students in concert bands, jazz band, chamber ensembles, three winterguards, and competitive marching band.

Mr. Frazier earned a Bachelor of Science degree in music education from Western Carolina University and a Master of Music degree in music education from The University of Florida.

Mr. Frazier is active as a student leadership consultant, adjudicator and clinician. In 2019, Mr. Frazier was one of 10 national educators awarded the Country Music Association Foundation’s “Music Teachers of Excellence” Award. He was also selected as one of 12 conducting fellows for the Reynolds Conducting Institute in Chicago, Illinois and was a conducting fellow for the United States Air Force Band in 2023. He has been selected as a STAR teacher and has received the National Band Association Citation of Excellence award twice. He holds memberships in the National Association for Music Education and Minority Band Directors Association.
