Where can I find information about Wildcat Welcome?

More information regarding Wildcat Welcome can be found on the New Student Experience website.

I am participating in a pre-wildcat welcome program. Can I move my belongings into my residence early?

  • We do not have an early move-in option for students participating in these programs.
  • Please contact the program directly to find out what arrangements have been made regarding what to do with your luggage or to get suggestions on what past participants have done.

Can I move in early?

Information about early arrival can be found on the Early Arrival Policy page.

If I am participating in a university sanctioned event and have to arrive early, am I able to store my items in my room even if I am not staying in the room?

If you meet the criteria to participate in the Early Arrival Program (i.e. you have a fall contract and you were approved by your advisor) and your fall room is available when you arrive, you are permitted to store your items. The cost for storage is the same as if you were staying in your room. Rooms are not available prior to the dates listed for new and returning students.

What happens if I show up early without any prior permission?

We recognize that, on occasion, some students will arrive before their approved check-in date and time. If a student arrives without any previous approval, staff will determine whether it is possible to assign them to their fall room. If not, staff will attempt to assign them to a temporary space. There will be a nightly charge until the scheduled move-in date.

Will personal protection equipment (PPE) be available to me when I arrive on campus?

Please note that as you return to campus this fall for classes, PPE will be available to all students for personal use at no cost.  Below are the items available:

  • Return to campus PPE kits, each kit includes:
    • 5 reusable masks
    • 2 bottles of hand sanitizer
    • 1 package of disinfectant wipes
    • 1 digital personal use thermometer
  • Additional bottles of hand sanitizer
  • Additional packages of disinfectant wipes
  • Additional reusable masks
  • Over the Counter covid test kits

Items can be picked up anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, from the Jacobs building (2001 Sheridan Road) where COVID-19 testing is being done.
