Abeer provides guidance, education, and coaching to chapters and governing councils. She is currently a student in Northwestern University’s Master of Arts in Counseling Program. In May 2022, Abeer earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Oklahoma (OU) in Norman, Oklahoma. During her undergraduate career, Abeer worked in OU’s Residence Life as a Resident Advisor, University College as a Peer Teaching Assistant, and with New Student Programs. In her role with OU’s New Student Programs, she spent three summers facilitating, and later helping to restructure, OU’s incoming student extended-orientation program, “Camp Crimson.” She was also a member of OU’s Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences Withrow Leadership Scholars and served in many leadership roles with OU’s Campus Activities Council.  Abeer is a member of Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Incorporated. She also served as a research assistant in Dr. Shane Connelly’s lab, researching leadership, ethical decision-making, and emotions in the workplace. Abeer’s experiences and areas of interest are embedded in community care, social justice and equity, mental health and wellness, and leadership development. Her passions lie in fostering growth and inclusivity within communities and providing resources and education on mental health and wellness. In her personal time, Abeer enjoys spending time with family and friends, snuggling with her dog, exploring cafes, creating art, and cooking.
