Standards of Excellence
Northwestern University's Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) believes that every chapter has the power to elevate both its own organization and the broader Northwestern community. The Standards of Excellence program empowers chapters to chart their own course toward success while meeting essential standards of compliance and efficiency. Recognizing that each chapter is unique, this program encourages chapters to assess their needs, plan strategically, and execute goals tailored to their individual vision. Through this approach, chapters can foster sustainable, positive change that aligns with the overarching vision, mission, and core values of the Fraternity & Sorority Life community.
- Chapter leadership must ensure that these expectations are communicated to all members. At least 80% of chapter members must attend a meeting where the Standards of Excellence are reviewed.

New Member Recruitment and Education
Northwestern University's Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) understands the significance of recruitment activities and new member education. We are committed to supporting your organization in building and maintaining quality membership. To enhance this support, we aim to establish clear communication between your organization and our office as you prepare for recruitment and new member education.
- All chapters must review and submit required documentation as outlined in the Guidelines for New Member Education.

FSL can provide or verify academic information for potential new members after a Temporary Authorization of Grade Disclosure is completed.
Member Registration
All new members within the fraternity and sorority community must complete a Member Registration. This form has two purposes:
- Authorization of Grade Disclosure: Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) can provide or verify academic information, if necessary, for members upon the completion of an Authorization of Grade Disclosure. This also allows FSL to develop grade reports for chapters on a quarterly basis.
- Hazing Policy Compliance Statement: Members must review and acknowledge their understanding of Northwestern University's hazing policy.

Service and Philanthropy Reporting
Service and philanthropy are core pillars of fraternity and sorority life, providing chapters with meaningful opportunities to give back to the communities they are part of. Fraternity & Sorority Life tracks these contributions to measure, highlight, and share the positive impact our chapters make through their philanthropic efforts and community service initiatives. This information underscores the value of our organizations' engagement and their commitment to fostering a culture of giving and social responsibility. Reports must be submitted within one (1) week after finals conclude each quarter.
