Parking Access

  • Parking Permits, Wildcards and Parking Access Cards are non-transferable, meaning for the exclusive use of the permit holder and may not be loaned or sold to another individual.
  • A permit holder may be assigned only one vehicle permit type at any time.
  • Improper use of a permit will result in a citation and/or your parking privileges being revoked. The University Parking Committee reserves the right to deny parking privileges to habitual violators.
  • The Chicago campus full-time faculty/staff permit (purple sticker) is valid in all surface lots and the North and South garages on the Evanston campus. It is the only permit that is valid on both campuses.
  • The Chicago campus part-time permit (green sticker) is not valid on the Evanston campus.
  • No Evanston campus permit is valid on the Chicago campus.
  • Chicago campus students, if they have Evanston campus classes during enforcement hours of 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (subject to verification by class schedule).

Parking Time Limits

  • Vehicles may not be stored in main campus lots for periods of longer than 48 hours. In addition, if you have been parked for 48 hours, then once you exit the lot, you cannot re-enter within 24 hours.
  • Vehicles may not be stored in Ryan Field remote lots for more than five (5) consecutive days. In addition, if you have been parked for five consecutive days, then once you exit the lot, you cannot re-enter within 24 hours. Also, all vehicles must be removed for all home football games.

Persons who operate a vehicle on Northwestern property are responsible for knowing and complying with these guidelines. See Tickets for information on violations.

University Police and Transportation & Parking may establish and enforce any temporary parking restrictions deemed necessary for the safety and convenience of the University. The University assumes no liability for loss or damage to a vehicle or its contents.
