Following a resolution agreement with the federal government, the University’s research funding has been restored and activities are continuing under the terms of the agreement.

Current Status of Federal Research Funding

Following a temporary pause in 2025, federal research funding to Northwestern has been restored. Proposal submissions, award management, reimbursements and subawards are proceeding under standard University processes.

Northwestern continues collaborating with federal sponsors to maintain high standards of compliance, accountability and responsible management of research funds.
