Wellness and Family-Friendly Programming
Northwestern offers many in-person and remote wellness and family-friendly programs designed to support the holistic well-being of our faculty. Many of these options are featured free of charge during Faculty Wellness Week which takes place bi-annually in October and April. The next Faculty Wellness Week is planned for October 21-25, 2024. Faculty are encouraged to take advantage of the programs and discounts.

Navigating Northwestern’s Parenting Resources
Monday, Oct. 21, Noon- 1 p.m.
Angelica Viramontes, Dependent Care Specialist from Talent Development and Wellbeing, will join us to discuss the variety of parenting resources available for Northwestern faculty.
Faculty Family Night with CIERA Astronomer
Monday, Oct. 21, 8 and 9 p.m.
As part of our Faculty Wellness Week, faculty members and their loved ones are invited to Faculty Family Night at the Dearborn Observatory. We will be joined by an astronomer from Northwestern’s Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics (CIERA) who will provide a brief introduction to an astronomy topic, followed by Q&A. Every participant will get the chance to look through the telescope, cultivating intellectual and social wellness.
Minds of All Kinds: Neurodiversity 101
Tuesday, Oct. 22, Noon- 1 p.m.
Join us for Minds of All Kinds: Neurodiversity 101, a workshop designed to introduce the basics of neurodiversity in a safe and identity-affirming way. Whether you identify as neurodivergent, a parent of a neurodivergent child or a faculty member curious to learn more, we will explore and celebrate the many ways brains are wired.
Striving for Excellence: Managing Perfectionism in Academic Life
Wednesday, Oct. 23, Noon- 1 p.m.
Join professional certified coach Isabeau Iqbal, PhD, for this interactive session exploring perfectionism. Faculty members at all stages of their careers will learn useful strategies.
