Seeking nominations and applications for NNCI pillar leads

Dear faculty colleagues,

In follow-up to the June 11 announcement of the launch of the new Northwestern Network for Collaborative Intelligence (NNCI), we are delighted to provide an update on NNCI’s progress toward a key University priority and to ask for your participation in bringing this dynamic, interdisciplinary effort to life.

NNCI’s work to advance responsible, high-impact, world-class research and education in data science and artificial intelligence stands on three strategic pillars — Research, Education and Infrastructure, which were identified in the recommendations of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Steering Committee that led to the foundation of NNCI. We now seek to identify leaders for these three pillars who will partner with us to strengthen Northwestern’s data science and AI research and education ecosystems.

NNCI invites nominations and applications for leaders of these pillars. Details can be found on NNCI’s website. The priority application deadline is Dec. 5, and we will continue to review applications until the roles are filled.

Pillar leaders will play a central role in shaping and implementing the University-wide strategy for advancing data science and artificial intelligence research and education. Individuals from across schools, disciplines and relevant units will be selected to help ensure key perspectives are represented in NNCI strategy and implementation, and to foster University-wide initiatives.

Please reach out to nnci@northwestern.edu with any questions. And please sign up for our newsletter to stay engaged with our work. We will continue to be in touch as this important initiative takes shape.

Thank you,
