Norris Box Office Student Attendants are responsible for the effective operation of the Box Office and their coordinated efforts with the Center Desk staff. The Box Office Student Attendants work with the Center Desk Student Supervisors to ensure that Center Desk staff are trained and kept current regarding policies and procedures and Box Office-supported events. They also work with the Student Supervisors in the Cashier’s Office and Student Organization Finance Office to provide registered student organizations with a financially transparent and sound support. The Norris Center Desk Attendant position is intended to act as the concierge service of the Norris University Center. In addition to being the initial point of contact in the building, the Center Desk also serves as a relay of information to other departments both in and out of the building. Attendants are expected to have a can-do attitude and positive disposition when interacting with guests and clients of Norris. Additionally, the position also serves as a box office attendant in pre- scheduled ticketed events being facilitated by the Norris Box Office. For more information see the position description.
The Norris Center Event Operations Attendants are vital members of the Event Operations team. They are responsible for the setup and teardown of equipment for all events in the Norris Center, serving a wide range of clients in the building. For more information see the position description.
The Event Planning Student Coordinator is the face of the Event Planning team. They are responsible for assisting all clients (student organizations, Northwestern Departments and campus offices) with planning, coordinating, and executing successful events and meetings in the Norris Center. Student Event Planning Coordinator duties include managing online room reservations, updating online request forms as need be, and assisting with event reservations and client communication via email, phone or from walk-ins. They might also take on administrative and operational projects such as taking reservations, copying, answering phones, and other clerical and administrative tasks that may be assigned from time to time. The Facilities Assistant at the Norris University Center will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the 160,000 square foot center's facilities and equipment. This includes performing routine maintenance tasks, providing customer service to students and staff, and assisting with larger projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. For more information see the position description.
The Game Room attendant is an active team member who participates in providing leisure for the university community. The attendant is responsible for promoting wellness by creating a fun, relaxed, customer-oriented environment with current and trendy video and table games equipment. The attendant transacts equipment rentals adhering to all required procedures and is accountable for maintenance and recovery of rental outdoor equipment. The Norris Technical Services AV Technicians are vital members of the Event Management team. They are responsible for the setup and strike of A/V equipment for all events in the Norris Center, the distribution of AV rental equipment for events in other venues, and the maintenance of our AV systems. The Norris Center Performance Venues Supervisors work closely with the Production Manager to oversee staffing and operations of the Norris Center Performance and Satellite Venues including Cahn Auditorium, Ryan Family Auditorium, Shanley Pavilion, Lutkin Hall, the Great Room, and the 2122 Performance Hall.
