Office of the Provost names Julie White Associate Provost for Administration, Finance and Facilities
Julie White has joined the Office of the Provost as Associate Provost for Administration, Finance and Facilities, bringing more than 20 years of leadership experience in higher education administration.
Prior to joining the Office of the Provost, White served as Associate Dean of Administration, Finance, Facilities and Planning for the McCormick School of Engineering. She held senior leadership positions at Stanford University School of Medicine and the University of Chicago before joining Northwestern in 2021.
In her role in the Office of the Provost, White will provide strategic leadership for academic operations, resource planning, and academic space and facilities initiatives across the University.
“I’m excited to contribute at the central level as well as learn about all of Northwestern’s schools, while working collaboratively to solve problems and support initiatives,” she said. “I hope to offer a school perspective on processes and operations, and draw on my experiences from other Universities as well.”
A native of Georgia who earned her undergraduate degree in Science, Technology and Culture from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Washington, White credits her educational path for helping her “develop quantitative skills and the ability to make data-informed decisions, while also refining leadership and communications skills.”
Along with her family, she is “enjoying a new chapter in Chicago” after living in multiple regions of the U.S.
