Guidance regarding new presidential action on H-1B visas

Dear H-1B visa holders,

Earlier today, the White House announced new rules governing the H-1B visa program and provided an accompanying fact sheet. Northwestern is reviewing this Presidential Proclamation closely.

For now, the University advises H-1B visa holders who are outside the United States and have an H-1B visa to return to the country before 12:01 a.m. EDT on Sunday, Sept. 21, and those already in the country to remain.

We will share more guidance when we are able.
