2025 Spring Quarter updates

Dear instructors,

As you prepare for your Spring Quarter classes, we write with a few reminders.

First, we strongly encourage you to link to Northwestern’s Syllabus Standards in your syllabus. This is an easy and consistent way to convey a range of University policies to your students.

Second, we want to remind you about Northwestern’s Policy on Academic Accommodations for Religious Observance. Students should make requests for Spring Quarter academic accommodations by the end of the second week of class (April 11) and undergraduates should use the Office of the Provost’s form if their requests relate to common midterms or final exams. The form will be updated for Spring Quarter after Winter Quarter final exams.

Finally, we want to remind you of the Undergraduate Policy on In-Person Arrival and Course Engagement. If you hear from undergraduates who plan not to arrive during the first week of the quarter, we encourage you to refer them to this policy.
