Northwestern’s Wellness Kiosk is located on the underground level of Norris University Center and provides students free access to essential health, wellness and personal care products. The kiosk is consistent with the goals of the Illinois Public Higher Education Act (110 ILCS 167/1 et seq.) and with best practices across Illinois higher education institutions by expanding access to essential health resources and supporting student well-being.
The kiosk is a project by the Center for Student Advocacy and Wellness (CSAW) and Norris University Center, in partnership with Sexual Health & Assault Peer Educations (SHAPE) and Associated Student Government (ASG). All enrolled Northwestern students can access products by scanning their Wildcard. Products are free of charge and transaction data is used only to prevent overuse of products.
While these supplies are also available in other spaces at Northwestern, the kiosk offers them in a centrally located campus building with extended hours. This is especially important for emergency contraception, which is most effective when taken as soon as possible.
