Sexual Health
CSAW provides free safer sex supplies (i.e., internal and external condoms, lube, dental dams, and more!) during business hours at our sexual health wall on the third floor of Searle Hall.
We also offer free safer sex supplies in the waiting room on the first floor of Searle. Come check it out and grab whatever you need!
Healthier Sexuality
Everyone deserves access to accurate, fact-based information and resources to help them make informed decisions about their sexual health. We use the term “healthier sexuality” rather than “healthy sexuality” because we understand that health and wellness exist on a spectrum. What is healthy for one person may be unhealthy for another.
Example: For many folks, using a latex external condom can be a healthy choice because latex condoms are effective at preventing STI transmission. However, for someone with an allergy to latex, using a latex barrier can be an unhealthy choice that can result in skin irritation, hives, or difficulty breathing. Health is something that looks different for everyone.
Healthier sexuality is more than just the absence of disease, dysfunction, or violence. We like to think of it as a part of our overall health and well-being that connects to the 8 Dimensions of Wellness. Sexuality can have impacts across all 8 of these dimensions. The circles of sexuality model highlights how sexuality impacts all of us throughout our lives, regardless of whether we are having sex.
CSAW believes that all Northwestern students have the following sexual rights, and that with these rights come the following responsibilities.
