Reading and Resilience Book Club
Fall cohort beginning October 16, 2025
Reading and Resilience is a bi-weekly, reading based support group for Northwestern University students who identify as survivors of sexual violence, stalking, or relationship violence. Through engagement with creative fiction texts, this group will offer a space to explore media portrayals of survivorship, process their own experiences in relation to chosen prose, and explore themes related to experiences of gender-based violence.
This group will most benefit those already engaged in support services due to the protentional triggering nature of the content. Reading and Resilience will run for four weeks during its selected quarters. CSAW will provide books for group members.
2025 Fall Cohort will be reading Medusa by Nataly Gruender.
Content warnings include familial neglect, grooming, sexual assault, victim-blaming, suicidal ideation, and character death.
- This group will be held virtually through a private Zoom link and will be facilitated by Alexandra Araujo Gonzalez and Meredith Abdelnour.
