Professional Interests/Expertise Areas:

Dr. Serluco joined the Chicago CAPS team in 2018 as a Staff Psychologist and Liaison to Pritzker School of Law. Prior to joining the CAPS staff, he received specialized training and experience in hospital and multiple university counseling center settings. Dr. Serluco provides individual therapy and group therapy services to Northwestern’s graduate and professional students. Dr. Serluco’s specialties include anxiety, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, relationship issues, mood issues, life transitions, and care for the LGBTQ+ community.

Theoretical Orientation:

As a clinician, Dr. Serluco’s work is grounded in cultivating a collaborative, affirming, and supportive therapeutic relationship. He uses a relational approach in therapy and tailors his work based on the unique needs, lived experiences, and goals of each client. Dr. Serluco draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients identify factors that keep them feeling “stuck” in a particular issue (e.g. relationship issues, academic concerns, life transitions), develop skills for managing stressors, and foster change that helps clients live a more fulfilling and balanced life.
