Welcome Families & Parents
Thank you for your interest in how CAPS can support your student's mental health. Supporting your student during the more difficult times of their career at Northwestern can be stressful for parents and families. The college experience changes every student, and it is likely to alter your family dynamics as well. There are bound to be times when you feel anxious, frustrated, or challenged by a situation that is taking place in your student's life.
We also recognize that a major challenge of parenting a college student is that you won't always be able to be there with them as they experience their own frustrations, anxieties, and struggles. Therefore, we hope you will help your student find their way to us during these times and that you will come to think of us as your partner in helping your student succeed.
We have gathered a variety of information for you in this section of our website, and encourage you to call us if you have questions (847)-491-2151.
