Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM)!

The purpose of this annual campaign is to understand impact and foster connection around sexual violence. Although it is important every month to remain involved and create space for those impacted by gender-based violence, April provides a time for us to pause and reflect on the importance of moving from awareness to action. For more information on the history of SAAM, you can check out the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) here.

CARE's Theme This Year is 'Archiving Our Narratives, Proliferating Our Voices'

This theme seeks to uplift the intersectional identities and stories of resistance, joy, & triumph of impacted folks. The practice of "Archiving Our Narratives, Proliferating Our Voices" means honoring both the interpersonal and collective pathways of storytelling and healing. This theme pushes folks to actively engage in radical world making by considering both space and place in an effort to create a culture by which harm is not condoned, tolerated, or upheld.
