As Assistant Director of Multicultural Student Affairs, Alejandro is responsible for managing, developing and accessing programs and activities focusing on Identity Engagement offered by Multicultural Student Affairs. In this capacity Alejandro is primarily responsible for the InclusionNU Fund Board, I Am Northwestern, Latin@ Heritage Month, and the MSA Congratulatory Celebration. He also provides advising to students and student groups on navigating university resources and connecting them to campus partners. Alejandro has served at Northwestern since 2013, and most of his work has focused on partnering with students and campus partners to raise awareness on issues of diversity and inclusion.

Originally from Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood, Alejandro earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and American Studies and a Master of Science in Public Service Management from DePaul University. Prior to joining Northwestern, Alejandro worked at DePaul University for eight years, where his primary role was to provide leadership and strategic direction for the Office of Mission and Values. In that role he delivered over 60 campus-wide programs annually, created and managed a highly competitive leadership program, served as a founding committee member of the Men of Color Initiative, assumed advisory roles for various student organizations, and participated as a facilitator in the Discover Chicago first-year program. In his spare time, Alejandro enjoys biking, playing and coaching soccer, and spending time with his wife and son.
