Pronouns: she/her/ella

Hello Wildcats! I joined NU-CAPS in the Summer of 2022 and have performed various roles since. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I assist clients who are facing a variety of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflicts, life transitions, and adjustment issues. I strongly believe in the importance of whole-person health, mindfulness, and balance, and I strive to help my clients lead healthy lifestyles.

Using a biopsychosocial approach, I collaborate with clients to address their unique needs and goals. My practice is based on a strengths-based perspective, emphasizing client-centered care. I am committed to meeting clients where they are, a principle that has proven to be beneficial and productive in my clinical work.

As the Director of Clinical Services for the Evanston Campus, I am committed to continually improving the quality of our services to ensure that every student receives the highest standard of care. This involves implementing evidence-based practices and developing programs tailored to meet the different needs of our student population. Additionally, I prioritize our staff's well-being by promoting a supportive work environment that fosters professional development and access to mental health resources. My goal is to create a comprehensive approach that not only enhances student experiences but also cultivates a healthy, motivated, and engaged team.

My training experience in a university counseling center inspired me to pursue a career as a college therapist. I earned my master’s degree in social work from Loyola University Chicago and have been practicing in college counseling centers since graduation. I am a native of Brazil and am fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish.
