Director of Clinical Services | Evanston CAPS
Pronouns: she/her/ellaHello Wildcats!
I joined the NU-CAPS team in the summer of 2022 and currently serve as the Director of Clinical Services for the Evanston Campus. In this role, I am dedicated to continuously elevating the quality of our services to ensure every student receives the highest standard of care. This includes implementing evidence-based practices, developing tailored programming to meet the diverse needs of our student body, and fostering a collaborative, professional environment for our clinical team.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I partner with students navigating a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflicts, life transitions, and adjustment issues. Using a strengths-based, client-centered, biopsychosocial approach, I meet students where they are to support their unique goals. I strongly believe in whole-person health, mindfulness, and balance, and I strive to empower students to cultivate sustainable, healthy lifestyles.
My passion for higher education mental health began during my own training in a university counseling center. I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Loyola University Chicago and have dedicated my career to college counseling centers ever since. Originally from Brazil, I am fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and enjoy working with students from all backgrounds.
