Hi, my name is Laura, and I’m a social worker by trade, which means I think about people, their strengths, struggles, and journeys in the context of their social positionality, environments, and systems of meaning and power. I’m a daughter of Colombian immigrants, a former first-gen student here at NU, and a very curious person all around. I strive to create spaces of connection for folks to be seen and affirmed in their wholeness.
My therapeutic orientation is grounded in a relational-cultural framework that is collaborative and honoring at its core. I have a passion for working with folks struggling to adjust to Northwestern, may it be due to imposter phenomenon, identity and belonging, interpersonal conflict, migration-related stress, anxiety, and depression.
