ARTIST STATEMENT
I painted this after returning to this bedroom for the first time in years. Because of circumstances, I have never spent as much continuous time living in this room as I am doing right now. I've always wondered how to place this "home" in what seems to be a collection of homes I have adopted throughout the years in the constant moving. In this self-portrait, I placed myself inside this plain, personality-less bedroom, and reimagined the colors that could fill it and represent my emotions during times of isolation.
