The Office of the Vice President for International Relations, under the leadership of Dévora Grynspan, advances the strategic goals of the university in a global context by developing and strengthening international partnerships, providing international opportunities for faculty and administrators, hosting foreign delegations and events, and supporting and integrating the global activities of various units on campus.

Global Engineering Trek to Germany receives grant from the German Academic Exchange Service

January 24, 2023. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has awarded Northwestern a DAAD Group Study Visit grant for the upcoming Global Engineering Trek to Germany in September 2023.

Northwestern leads Big Ten Academic Alliance development program and internationalization

October 17, 2022. This summer, a group of 13 U.S. university administrators from the Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) spent a week in Germany as the capstone to a six-month professional development program on internationalization in higher education.  


Northwestern hosts Autumn Festival celebration for universities around Chicago

October 1, 2022. A group of 80 Chinese language students and instructors from seven universities around Illinois gathered for a luncheon on Northwestern’s Evanston campus to celebrate the Autumn Festival. 

Northwestern hosts delegation from Austria for presentations from faculty and a campus tour

September 19, 2022. Northwestern’s Office of International Relations welcomed a delegation from the Ministry for Science, Education and Research in Austria to campus for a formal visit and tour of the university.
