International Opportunities for Northwestern Faculty

The Office of the Vice President for International Relations is strongly committed to providing an array of international opportunities for Northwestern faculty members. Faculty members interested in developing or expanding their international portfolio and collaborations with the support of our office can do so in various ways.

Partnering Abroad

Northwestern is committed to expanding and deepening existing institutional partnerships as well as developing new partnerships that focus on collaborative research and teaching.

International Classroom Partnering Grants for Northwestern Faculty

The Office of the Vice President for International Relations and the Buffett Institute for Global Affairs invite faculty applications for $3,000 classroom partnering grants. This is an opportunity to collaborate with faculty at Northwestern's international partner institutions to provide global, cross-cultural opportunities for virtual student learning and engagement during the school year.

International Exploratory Travel Grants for Faculty

This travel grant aims to encourage Northwestern faculty to explore potential collaborations at partner institutions abroad. Full-time members of the Northwestern faculty can use the grant to travel and promote faculty and institutional collaborations and strengthen Northwestern's existing partnerships or to bring a faculty member from a partner institution to Northwestern for that same purpose.

Representing and Connecting with Northwestern Abroad

We are always looking for Northwestern faculty who are traveling abroad for professional reasons, and who would be interested in connecting with our institutional partners, students studying abroad, or alumni. Please contact our office and we would be happy to help set-up meetings and activities.
