Emergency Procedures

We ask for your help in keeping yourself, others and your property safe by staying informed and taking responsibility for your personal safety and property security.

  • Active violence: Active violence incidents involve an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area.
  • Bomb threats and suspicious packages: Bomb threats and suspicious packages should be reported to University Police immediately.
  • Fires: Identify exits, call for help and exit quickly and safely.
  • Natural Disasters: Prepare for tornadoes, floods and earthquakes.
  • Power Outages: Stay safe during power outages by evaluating your options ahead of time.
  • Medical Emergencies: Respond quickly and appropriately to illness or injuries.
  • Workplace Violence: Demeaning, intimidating or threatening behaviors that cause or threaten harm are considered violence and are prohibited.
