Funding Your Studies

Fellowships, grants, assistantship options, and more

TGS provides most doctoral students with a stipend and scholarship to pay tuition costs; they are supported for a minimum of five years. For master’s students, external grants and loans make graduate study accessible.

Alumnae of Northwestern University
Alumnae of Northwestern University 2025–26 Graduate Fellowship

The Alumnae of Northwestern University offers this fellowship to Northwestern graduates who show promise of achieving distinction in their field and bringing credit to the University. Awardees will receive from $10,000–$20,000 toward graduate tuition. Criteria for selection include quality of scholarship, leadership, community service, professional experience, and financial need.

Register for a Summer PhD and Postdoc Career Development Series

The series will consist of weekly workshops on Mondays from 10:00–11:15 AM from Monday, June 16 – Monday, July 21, as well as alumni programming designed to help participants to understand best practices for navigating, networking, applying, and interviewing for non-academic positions.

Devika Ranjan and JK Anowe Named 2025 Soros Fellows

Two remarkable TGS students have joined the 2025 class of Paul & Daisy Soros Fellows: Devika Ranjan, PhD candidate in performance studies, and JK Anowe, MFA and MA student in English!
