The Graduate School (TGS) is committed to providing graduate students and postdoctoral scholars with the tools they need to be successful during their time at Northwestern and beyond. The Graduate School’s Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Success (GPS) invests into the holistic experience of graduate students and postdocs to ensure they can thrive in their pursuit of academic success and personal growth while maintaining their well-being. GPS hosts a variety of retention initiatives and programming, including the following:
- Navigating the US Sociopolitical Context in Higher Education: The purpose of the Navigating the U.S. Sociopolitical Context in Higher Education program is to provide education and facilitate conversations to empower students and postdocs to successfully engage in sensitive conversations and navigate interpersonal dynamics with students, postdocs, faculty, staff, and community members from various backgrounds.
- New Student Welcome Reception: Each fall, GPS invites all incoming TGS students to attend a New TGS Student Welcome Reception for an evening of networking and fellowship.
- TGS Hangouts Collaborations: TGS Hangouts are a chance to gather through fun events and shared experiences. Spanning a variety of social opportunities, TGS Hangouts seek to foster connection and well-being.
