New Green Labs Certification Program

This quarter, sustainNU launched a new Green Labs Certification program, similar to our existing Green Office Certification, to help lab users adopt more sustainable practices. According to the U.S. EPA, the average lab uses 5 to 10 times more energy and water per square foot than a typical office. As such, lab personnel play essential roles in reducing the University’s environmental footprint.

This voluntary certification program engages campus partners in best practices for sustainable lab management and operations, without sacrificing research quality or lab safety. Learn more about getting certified here or reach out to sustainNU@northwestern.edu to get started.
