Go Green with OZZI

Simply request an OZZI from the cashier at any dining hall, fill it up, and enjoy your meal wherever you choose to eat. Next time you head to a dining hall, return your OZZI to a cashier in ANY dining hall.

A new reusable container program has been rolled out in the dining halls on campus. Last quarter, many of the reusable containers were not returned leaving the program depleted and a lot of reusable containers lost to the landfill. Northwestern Dining and Student Affairs worked to reinstate the program, rolling out the new, green OZZI containers at the end of January. While the containers remain FREE for use by any diner, if the container is not returned, the user will need to pay a $7 fee to rejoin the program.

Using the OZZI is an easy way to reduce your environmental footprint. As more meals are taken to-go, we move from eating from reusable dishes to generating single-use disposable containers with each meal. By requesting an OZZI, and returning it after use, we can eliminate a significant source of waste. Every time you use a reusable OZZI, one less disposable container is sent to a landfill. This supports our campus commitment to reduce waste generated on campus.

Simply request an OZZI from the cashier at any dining hall, fill it up, and enjoy your meal wherever you choose to eat. Next time you head to a dining hall, return your OZZI to a cashier in ANY dining hall. You can then request a new OZZI if you’re eating on the go again. Your use and return of the OZZI are tracked on your Wildcard. You cannot have more than one OZZI out at a given time so remember to return so you can reuse again!
We hope to see you around campus with your green OZZI! Learn more from this OZZI Q&A.
