Northwestern Night at the Art Institute

Thursday May 9, 2024


  • All Northwestern faculty, staff, and student Wildcardholders AND their guests enjoy free admission to the museum. No RSVP needed to attend. Free event poster for the first 200 who arrive.
  • Visit the Northwestern welcome desk in Michigan Ave entrance upon arrival. 
  • Small group tours exclusively for NU representatives and guests will depart from the main lobby. Sign-up details available upon arrival.
    • 5:30pm: Crime and Punishment – Ali Kotoch (WCAS, '06) of art on display and artists anchored around the theme of justice.
    • 6:00pm: Mental Health and Wellness on Display at the Art Institute, in conjunction with Mental Health Awareness Month
    • 6:30pm: Chicago artists – While The Art Institute boasts works representing artists from around the world, this tour will feature those who call Sweet Home Chicago their home and in some cases are inspired by the City of Broad Shoulders led by Ali Kotoch (WCAS, '06)
  • Getting there from Evanston -- Ride Loop-bound Purple Express to Adams & Wabash. Museum is one block east on Adams. Free One Day Ventra passes available for students who reside on or near Evanston campus.
    • On-campus students: Visit your residential area desk starting Monday May 6 and present your Wildcard for a one-day pass.
    • Off-campus students: Visit the SOURCE (Norris third floor) Monday-Thursday 9am-2pm and present your Wildcard for a one-day pass.

Northwestern currently has partner benefits with Art Institute of Chicago and the Museum of Contemporary Art-Chicago

  • Art Institute of Chicago | 111 S. Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL
    • All Northwestern undergraduates may visit the ticketing counter at the Art Institute and receive a free ticket when they show Wildcard.
    • Faculty interested in bringing classes to the Art Institute can contact for any ticketing needs or questions.
  • MCA Chicago | 220 E. Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL
    • All Wildcard-holders can show their Wildcard ID at the ticket counter and receive a free ticket.
