Health Promotion & Wellness (HPaW)
Health Promotion and Wellness (HPaW) is the primary provider of health promotion and prevention services at Northwestern University. Essential to fulfilling our vision is a comprehensive set of research-based services designed to support intellectual growth, student development, and civic responsibility.
The mission of Health Promotion and Wellness is to empower students to make healthy decisions that enhance individual success and community well-being.
Emphasis is placed upon our priority health behavior areas of alcohol and other drug use, sexual health and sexual violence prevention.
To fulfill this mission, Health Promotion and Wellness will utilize evidence-informed and innovative strategies to:
- Foster a campus environment that supports healthy behaviors and reduces harmful behaviors.
- Engage diverse campus and community stakeholders in collaborative efforts to identify and promote healthy norms and clear expectations.
- Develop students' knowledge, attitudes and skills within relevant content areas.
