Purple Prep
Wildcat Welcome is Northwestern's new student orientation process to help you transition to a new college and launch you into your first year here. The first step of the Wildcat Welcome process is called Purple Prep. Purple Prep for Transfer Students consists of foundational items to prepare you for your start to Northwestern, with tasks to complete and virtual programs to attend over the summer. With deadlines occurring throughout the summer, Purple Prep includes tasks such as completing your housing contract and health requirement form to virtual events such as meeting with your academic adviser and participating in fall course registration. Purple Prep for Transfer Students launches in early June.
1. Purple Prep Website
Find everything you need to know. The Purple Prep Website includes details about each of your summer tasks, from setting up your student account to getting started with academics and also dates to plan for as you look ahead to fall. Review each section carefully, and make sure to share the parent and family information with your parents or guardians.
2. Purple Prep Checklist
Keep track of requirements. The website includes a link to your personalized checklist. The first time you log in, you'll answer a few questions that will help build your list, and you can opt in to text messages that remind you ever Sunday of any unchecked items due that week. Bookmark your checklist to your phone's home screen for quick access and watch your activity wheel progress throughout the summer!
3. Purple Prep Emails
Get biweekly updates and reminders. Your checklist and the website have all the info you need this summer, but we know you'll want to double-check that you're staying on track. The first and third Tuesday of each month from June through September, we'll send you an email noting what's due that month and any updates.
