Supporting Students

Virtually every student confronts personal or academic challenges during their time at Northwestern. To help faculty guide students in these situations, this webpage provides information about some of the primary health, safety and well-being resources made available to students. The Faculty and Adviser Action Guide helps faculty identify levels of concerning behavior and the appropriate contacts for a given type of undergraduate student academic or behavioral concern. The guide provides contacts for emergency, urgent, and both academic and non-academic concerns.

In emergency situations, faculty should call 911 or call the University Police at 847-491-3456 in Evanston or 312-503-3456 in Chicago. For non-emergency concerns regarding statements or behaviors that are threatening toward others, notify the Behavioral Consultation Team by submitting the Wildcats Aware form.
