Sawyer is the 2026 Director of the McCormick School of Engineering. Originally from Harvard, Massachusetts (unrelated to the university of the same name), Sawyer is studying Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Manufacturing, and is also pursuing the Segal Design Certificate. His favorite part of Wildcat Welcome occurs after the close of orientation week, when he's able to stay in touch with his students and watch them thrive and grow into their Northwestern communities. Around Campus, you'll see Sawyer giving campus tours, working in the machine shop, or building parts for his engineering team. In his free time, he likes to cook more elaborate meals than he responsibly should, read, and hike (although the midwest's terrain leaves something to be desired).
