Hazardous and Universal Wastes are materials that are no longer in use, and cannot be discarded in general refuse because its properties are harmful to human health or the environment. Common examples include batteries, lamps, paint and solvents. Properly storing and disposing of these hazardous waste materials prevents exposure to both people and the environment.
